SONMEZ GLOBAL YAPI VE TICARET A.S. has been founded in 1980 as a specialized engineering company.

Sönmez started with manufacturing and installation of the products along with process and HVAC design predominantly for the textile industry during the first years.

In the 90s, Sönmez formed two different organizations. One part of Sönmez organization sustained its manufacturing business focusing mostly on the ventilation equipment, such as air ducts, air handling units, rotary filters, louvres etc.

The other part of Sönmez organization, prioritizing the training and improvement of its engineering and management capabilities, provided engineering, procurement and construction services (EPC) for the mechanical systems best to the needs of the clients and expanded its activities to different industries such as pharmaceutics, FMCG, ceramics, automotive, petrochemicals etc. Thanks to the success of both organizations, Sönmez became a reputable and well-known mechanical engineering and contracting company in its field.

In the 2000s Sönmez basically expanded current activities to abroad and started business in CIS countries. This transformation from a domestic company to an international one helped Sönmez to become multicultural, competent with the international standards and methods, financially solid.

In the 2010s to meet the clients' demands especially in the Middle East region, Sönmez added electrical contracting to its activities and transformed into a MEP contracting company which is capable of supplying EPC services in any region of the world, for almost all industries including airports, multi-purpose complexes, hospitals, petrochemical plants, power plants, manufacturing facilities.

In mid-2010s, again upon clients demands Sönmez extended its activities to include turn-key EPC construction services. Sönmez has added considerable number of reputable projects to its construction references since then and keep on improving on MEP, construction, manufacturing services.

In the late 2010s Sönmez transferred its manufacturing activities to a sister company and focused on contracting. Also, in this period Sönmez expanded by acquiring a construction company in Bulgaria and establishing branch offices/subsidiaries in the areas of interest. Sönmez has successfully completed and/or has ongoing projects in Bahrain, Bulgaria, Germany, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Tunisia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Being active in many regions and working with many clients, our experienced staff became familiar with most of the international codes such as Turkish specifications, BS, ASTM, SNIP, GOST, SMACNA, ASHRAE and Turkmenistan Specifications and as well as the architectural preferences of local authorities.

Supported by international contracting experience for more than 40 years, our vision is to continuously excel our EPC capabilities while expanding the regions and the industries we work at, whereas expanding in the related new businesses and adding value to the cultural diversity, supporting equal opportunities.
