Taif Road Development and Extension Project

Description

Part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 infrastructure initiatives in Riyadh, the Taif Road Development and Extension Project spans a critical 15 km transit corridor from Najd Street to the Western Ring Road, alongside a 9.7 km extension connecting the Laban district directly to Qiddiya City. Engineered to carry over 200,000 vehicles daily across four main lanes in each direction, the project features major civil engineering structures, including the 311 m long Taibah Street interchange bridge, an integrated network of grade-separated tunnels and overpasses at Najd Street and Asir Road, modern pedestrian footbridges, and the landmark 500 m long, 47 m wide Wadi Bridge on the Qiddiya route. The general contracting scope delivered comprehensive civil construction and infrastructure MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) works across the highway and bridge network. Technical execution encompassed large-scale earthworks, highway stormwater drainage and culvert networks, fire suppression systems for underpasses, and street lighting electrical infrastructure, subterranean utility relocations.
