Bahrain International Airport Modernization Project

Description
Representing a $1.1 billion transformation, the Bahrain International Airport Modernization Program (AMP) substantially elevated the Kingdom's aviation infrastructure and passenger capacity. The mechanical scope encompassed a total built-up area of 359,000 m², comprising a 220,000 m² passenger terminal, a 130,000 m² parking structure, and a 9,000 m² central utility complex. Built to LEED Gold standards, the expansion quadrupled the terminal size and scaled annual passenger capacity to 14 million. The mechanical infrastructure features a heavy-duty central cooling plant driven by six water-cooled chillers delivering 48,000 kW of total cooling capacity to support the terminal’s extensive retail, lounge, and operational zones.
