Riyadh King Khaled International Airport T1-T4 Terminals

Description

As part of the strategic development aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, the King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) Terminal Renewal and Expansion Project in Riyadh achieved major milestones in early 2026 to elevate overall airport capacity to 56 million passengers annually by the end of 2026. The comprehensive overhaul reallocates Terminals 1 and 2 for national carriers' international flights while redeveloping Terminals 3 and 4 for domestic travel, supported by newly integrated link structures. The mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) contracting scope delivered full engineering and installation across 4 terminal buildings and connecting link structures, spanning a total indoor area of 290,000 m². Technical execution encompassed high-capacity terminal HVAC and ventilation plants designed for massive passenger footfall and dynamic thermal loads, complete domestic water supply and specialized sanitary drainage networks, advanced automatic fire detection and high-flow sprinkler suppression systems, baggage handling utility integrations, and a centralized Building Management System (BMS) and SCADA infrastructure for continuous 24/7 environmental control, life safety, and energy optimization.
