Medinah Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport

Description

Spanning a total indoor area of 200,000 m², the expansion and operation of Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport (PMIA) in Medina, Saudi Arabia, represents a benchmark aviation infrastructure project in the Middle East. The comprehensive scope delivered all mechanical works for the project—comprising the construction of the new 5.5-million-passenger international terminal and the modernization of Terminal 1 for dedicated Hajj and Umrah charter traffic—along with full operational mechanical management of the facility through 2021. Built to maintain PMIA’s legacy as the first LEED Gold-certified airport terminal in the MENA region, the mechanical installations integrated high-efficiency HVAC and air distribution, specialized thermal control systems concealed within the terminal's signature palm-tree structural columns, full fire protection, plumbing, and sustainable water management systems engineered to meet rigorous environmental and continuous high-occupancy demands.
